Mid-winter Edmonton transit service changes effective Feb. 8

Various bus routes, including school specials, will see service changes to reflect Edmonton Transit System (ETS) ridership patterns starting on Feb. 8.

Route 506 Davies will be rerouted into the Meadows Transit Centre. Rather than turning north onto Tamarack Way, it will continue on Maple Road, turn right onto 17 Street and then turn into the transit centre. Riders can access the route at stop 3613 and Maple Road and Tamarack Way westbound.

Route 654 to Strathcona High School will no longer stop at 116 Street and 87 Avenue eastbound, and will end one stop earlier at 116 Street and 91 Avenue

Holiday and special event service changes

Transit service is reduced on holidays and in alignment with public, Catholic and post-secondary school calendars.

• Feb. 16 (Family Day): All bus routes will operate on Saturday schedules.
• Feb. 17 to 20 (Reading Week): Buses will run regular weekday schedules with the exception of Route 622 which will not be operating, and Route 4 to the University of Alberta, which will see reduced service.
• Feb. 26 to 27 (teachers’ convention): Public and Catholic school service will be cancelled with the exception of Route 622. All other buses will run on regular weekday service.
• March 26 and 27: Catholic school trips have been adjusted to reflect the change in early dismissal times.
• March 30 to April 2 (Spring Break): Public and Catholic school service will be cancelled, with the exception of Route 622. All other buses will operate normally.
• April 3 (Good Friday): Buses will run on Sunday schedules.
• April 6 (Easter Monday): Public and Catholic service will be cancelled and Route 4 will be reduced. All other routes will run on a regular weekday schedule.
• March 31 and April 15: Public school service will be cancelled for professional development days. All other bus routes will run regular weekday service.

Bus bay reassignments

Two transit centres will see bays reassigned in an effort to reduce congestions and improve operational efficiency.

• Route 506 Davies will move from Bay G (2707) to Bay L (3712) at Meadows.
• On Demand Transit will move from Bay L (3712) to Bay G (2707) at Meadows.
• Route 128 will move from Bay F (7009) to Bay H (7011) at Northgate

Signage will be placed at the stops to direct riders to the correct bus bay.
