Edmonton police are looking to identify people caught on surveillance footage around the time of an assault in the west end that left one man with significant head injuries. Just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 31, officers responded to a call of an injured man near 174 Street and 77 Avenue. EMS took him to hospital, where he remained as of Wednesday with serious injuries. Investigators have since found surveillance footage that shows a fight between the victim and two other men just before the assault. One had a slim build with ear-length dark hair and was wearing a black or grey hooded jacket with a reflective stripe across the back, like a construction vest, along with a white shirt, black pants, black shoes and white socks. The other man was wearing a black hoodie and black pants. Investigators believe both men removed their jackets shortly after the assault.
