A man is dead after his car crashed into the corner of a hotel in west Edmonton on Friday.

Emergency crews were called to 109 Avenue and Mayfield Road around 12:30 p.m. for the single-vehicle crash.

The 53-year-old driver of the car was treated on scene, but he died of his injuries, police said on Saturday.

No one else was injured.

The investigation into the crash is still underway.
