Transit service remains disrupted after a collision between a semi-truck and an LRT train in south Edmonton on Wednesday morning. The crash happened just after 9 a.m. in the area of 75 Street and 51 Avenue between a northbound Valley Line Southeast train and a semi-truck. Edmonton transit said an LRT replacement bus service is running between Bonnie Doon and Millwoods stops until train service can be restored. Edmonton Police Service (EPS) said two passengers on board the train were assessed on scene and released. The train operator was taken to a medical clinic for “precautionary reasons,” police said in a news release. The driver of the semi truck was not injured and was issued a ticket, EPS said. CTV News Edmonton captured images and video of the crash. The train appeared to have damage to its windshield and was pushed off the rail tracks. Traffic was closed on 51 Avenue, but has since been reopened, EPS said. With files from CTV News Edmonton’s Evan Klippenstein
