Telus World of Science Edmonton (TWOSE) and Edmonton Public Library (EPL) have been recognized for their partnership on a project to increase access to science in the capital city. Science Access Passes, which provide free general admission to TWOSE for up to six people, can be borrowed like a book from five community branches for three weeks at a time. The pass earned the Alberta Museums Association’s 2026 Leadership Award for Sustainability on Wednesday. The award recognizes museums that “build organizational vibrancy and integrate cultural, social, environmental, financial, and health and well-being considerations into their work.” TWOSE president and CEO Constance Scarlett called the award proof of what can be achieved through collaborative effort. “Everyone deserves the chance to get curious, ask questions, and experience the joy of discovering something new. Working with Edmonton Public Library helps us bring that opportunity to more people in our community,” Scarlett said in a statement. “Access to learning changes lives and strengthens communities,” added EPL CEO Sharon Day. “This award reflects the power of a shared vision between EPL and TELUS World of Science to create opportunities for everyone to discover what’s possible.”
