Work on an overpass south of Edmonton will lead to lane closures on two highways next week. In a Wednesday news release, Mainroad Alberta Contracting said crews will begin repairs to the Millet overpass over Highway 2 on Monday, with work expected to be completed by Sept. 28. Highway 2 will have nightly lane closures from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., while Highway 616 will be reduced to a single lane throughout the project. Speed limits will be reduced to 80 km/h on Highway 2 and 50 km/h on Highway 616 while crews are on site. The Millet overpass sits 30 kilometres south of the Edmonton city limit. Mainroad Alberta Contracting maintains highways in Wetaskiwin, Ponoka, Lacombe and Red Deer counties.
