A group of students from a north Edmonton school damaged during a severe July storm will relocate to another school next week to start the school year. A large section of the roof of Killarney School, located on 91 Street between 131 and 132 avenues, was torn off during an early morning storm on July 14. Several classrooms were flooded. Killarney School said on its website all Grade 8 students will temporarily relocate to Hardisty School starting Sept. 1, including the grade’s Opportunity class and both English as a Second Language classes, while workers continue to repair the school. Each day, buses will transport the Killarney students to and from Hardisty School, located a 10-to-15-minute drive south across the river in the Fulton Place neighbourhood.
