Pet owners looking to commemorate the holiday season can mark their calendars for the beginning of photos with Santa season at the Edmonton Humane Society on Sunday. Pet Pics with Santa is celebrating its 40th anniversary. This year, it runs from Nov. 23 to Dec. 7 at the 163 Street location. For a $25 donation to the charity, pets and their people can meet with Santa and celebrate the “pawlidays,” with a professionally taken photo. “This is one of our beloved events that we host,” said CEO Liza Sunley. “Everyone looks forward to this time of year where they can come with their pets and have a wonderful souvenir of a beautiful photo taken, so appointments tend to book up quickly.” This year, in honour of the event’s anniversary, the humane society is hosting 80s-themed nights on Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. Those photos cost $40 but include an 80s-theme portrait as well as a classic one. Appointments for a pet portrait can be made on the Edmonton Humane Society website.
