Here’s what’s happening in and around Edmonton this weekend. Summer of Soccer, baseball and basketball Edmonton’s Summer of Soccer is here. Ice District is hosting 97 free World Cup Watch Parties, including Friday and Saturday night. Doors open at the tent at 11 a.m. Friday for the Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina match at 1 p.m., then again at 7 p.m. for U.S. vs. Paraguay. On Saturday, three games will stream from the tent: Qatar vs. Switzerland, Brazil vs. Morocco and Haiti vs. Scotland. Each event is free to attend and will have food trucks, DJs, face painting and other footie festivities. Gates open 60 minutes before kick off. The Edmonton Riverhawks are also in full swing. On Friday, Baseball goes Bollywood at the Re/Max field. On Saturday, we’re all coming to the cottage: it’s the team’s Heated Rivalry-themed Pride Night. The Edmonton Stingers, the city’s professional basketball team, faces off against the Scarborough Shooting Stars at the Edmonton Expo Centre on Saturday. Tickets begin at $20. Pathways mêskanâs This Sunday afternoon celebration showcases Indigenous culture in fashion, music, dance, food, crafting, wild plant walks and a vendor market. The University of Alberta Botanic Garden event is designed for families of all ages and backgrounds. Regular admission fees apply. Royal Canadian Circus 2026 It’s the last weekend for acrobatics, visuals and circus tradition at West Edmonton Mall’s Big Top. Pre-show features concessions, face painting and photo opportunities. Pets in the Park The Edmonton Humane Society is bringing back its annual festival of fur-iends at Buena Vista Park on Sunday. The event also includes the Walk/Run for Pets, but if you’d rather just pet animals, it’s free to attend. Donations of toys or non-perishable pet-related items, including food, are accepted.
