Mounties are asking potential witnesses to an assault of a girl in Red Deer this week to come forward. Multiple 911 calls came in Monday around 2:21 p.m. for an assault at a field in Lancaster Meadows. The victim, a female youth, was found and brought to a nearby recreation facility before being taken to hospital. She had serious but non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP said. Anyone who witnessed the assault or who may have video footage is asked to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-406-2200 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
