Heavy equipment company Finning International Inc. was fined $155,000 after a worker was seriously injured on a worksite. The worker was hit by a moving loader at an equipment yard near Mildred Lake on Dec. 14, 2023, according to a Government of Alberta media release on Wednesday. The worker was seriously hurt and Finning pleaded guilty to one count of failing to ensure equipment was operated according to manufacturers specifications. The province said all other charges were dropped. Finning was ordered to pay $155,000 to the Alberta Motor Transport Association to create safety education for worksites.
