The forecast may be fickle, but it’s nearly summer and Explore Edmonton has new ways for people to enjoy what the city has to offer. The Edmonton Explorer trolley service and Discover Edmonton Pass are two new immersive initiatives aimed at making exploring the city a “more connected and convenient experience,” the organization says. “Edmonton was named one of the top 10 cities to visit in 2025 by Lonely Planet … Our visitors always rate Edmonton highly, but there’s a lot to see,” said Traci Bednard, president and CEO of Explore Edmonton. “What this does is allow us to connect people through all of those experiences in a relatively short period of time.” The vintage 1920s-style Molly Trolleys will give riders the chance to discover Edmonton with the help of guides who will share stories, history and hidden gems. The service has 20 stops across two routes including West Edmonton Mall, Fort Edmonton Park, the Alberta Aviation Museum, the Muttart Conservatory and more. Tickets are available online. The Discover Edmonton Pass compliments the service, allowing entry to attractions like the museum and conservatory, as well as the Edmonton Valley Zoo, Edmonton Riverboat and more. The trolley service launches June 15 and runs until Thanksgiving. “We cheated a bit and we did take a few drives to try the routes, and the reaction was amazing,” Bednard said. “You cannot ride on this bus without seeing people waving and cheering as you go by.” Each trolley can carry more than 30 people and all are wheelchair accessible.
