A helicopter could be seen moving rocks near Whitemud Park and the North Saskatchewan River on Wednesday. Epcor said the work is part of outfall rehabilitation south of Laurier Heights. “This work is part of Epcor’s ongoing efforts to maintain critical drainage infrastructure,” Epcor spokesperson Laura Ehrkamp wrote in an email to CTV News Edmonton. “The project involves repairs to an outfall located south of Laurier Drive and 139 Street. Due to accessibility challenges at this outfall, a helicopter is being used to safely transport materials to the work area to complete the final phase of construction.” Ehrkamp said helicopter activity started on Wednesday and is expected to continue for about a week.
