Edmontonian claims $5M lottery prize

An Edmonton man recently won $5 million in a lottery.

Laurentiu Bordianu claimed the prize earlier this month on a Lotto 6/49 and Extra draw.

“I’ve actually had this dream quite a few times and then I woke up in the morning and was so sad and now it still doesn’t feel real,” he said in a Wednesday press release by Play Alberta, on which the ticket was purchased.

Among his plans for the winnings are upgrading his family’s home in the Edmonton area.

Play Alberta is the province’s only regulated online gaming platform.
