Edmonton property owners have until June 30 to pay their taxes. The city will charge a five-per-cent late fee on outstanding payments starting July 1, with interest penalties accumulating as the year goes on. Property taxes cannot be appealed, according to a city media release. Edmontonians can pay in person at their bank, by phone or through online banking. Because the deadline is approaching, the city advises not paying by mail and making sure your payments have time to process. Homeowners wanting to sign up for the city’s Monthly Payment Plan must still pay their full property tax amounts by June 30 as the deadline to begin monthly tax payments in July has passed. Tax details can be found on the City of Edmonton website after making a user account. Property tax notices were sent out in May. Edmontonians can contact 311 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday if they have not received a notice yet.
