Edmonton police are looking for a 43-year-old man accused in a series of break-ins and copper thefts that racked up some $80,000 in damage and stolen property. Investigators responded to four copper theft incidents between January 2025 and February 2026, two of which left telecommunications tower sites with critical infrastructure damage after copper wire was stolen. There were also two break-ins at homes under construction. Copper wiring was stripped from the properties. Chad Brochu is wanted on warrants for four counts of breaking and entering with intent to commit and breach of probation. Edmonton police say to date this year, they have made 40 arrests in similar crime investigations and received around 424 copper wire theft reports. Anyone with information on Chad Brochu’s whereabouts is asked not to approach him and to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567.
