WestJet will offer a non-stop flight between Edmonton and Reykjavik, Iceland, starting next summer, the airline announced on Tuesday. Flights to Reykjavik will begin June 26, and to Edmonton the next day. Each route will be flown once per week. In a press release, WestJet’s vice-president and chief commercial officer John Weatherill said the service “reaffirms our commitment to maintaining strong global connections for Albertans” while Edmonton International Airport called it a win for travellers, tourism and the provincial economy.
