Despite the pouring rain in the city, many braved the weather to see some unique cars at the annual Edmonton Father’s Day Car Show. “Cars are a special thing to dads and for families to come and enjoy together,” said Isaac Varte, executive pastor with Celebration Church. “That’s why we do our family fun zone here, things like that. It’s things for kids to enjoy, dads to enjoy, something families can do together.” Every year there are more than 450 show vehicles displayed, bringing in more than 20,000 people. While the weather did hold back people from attending, Varte says it’s still a great event for the whole family. There were a number of awards presented, including best classic cars, people’s choice awards and most unique car.
