RuPaul’s drag queens will be reporting live from Edmonton for the 2027 edition of the Werq The World tour. Celebrating 10 years of the world’s largest touring drag production, queens will be slaying the house down boots at 50 performances, including two in Alberta. On March 20, 2027, queens will descend on the River Cree Resort and Casino for “a primetime variety hour where the news desk meets the main stage,” according to the tour announcement. Asia O’Hara, who placed fourth in season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, will take on the role of lead anchor, or anchorma’am, for WTWN 10: Werq The World News, the theme of this year’s tour. “This just in! The world is chaotic, the news is exhausting, and the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race are here to report it their way," according to the announcement. “It’s the biggest stories of the year delivered through drag, spectacle, comedy, and world-class performances.” The tour features a rotating cast, with Vanessa Vanjie, Jorgeous, Latrice Royale, Daya Betty, and Shannel also slated for the Alberta shows. “(Jorgeous) is widely regarded as one of the most explosive dance performers in the Drag Race universe," according to the announcement. Co-star Royale was named one of the most powerful drag queens in America by New York Magazine. The show also promises “surprise guests” from Season 19 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The second Alberta show is March 21 at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino in Calgary. Tickets for the tour go on presale May 28 and general sale May 29.
