One of Edmonton’s public disc golf courses reopened on Saturday after upgrades to the tee pads, baskets, and signage. The 18-hole course is at Norwester Park at 117 Avenue and 168 Street. The renovations were made possible through a $28,000 grant from the province under the Community Facility Enhancement Program and $18,784 from the city’s Recreation Partner and Facility Investment Program. The remaining costs were funded by donations from Edmonton Disc Golf Association (EDGA) members. Founded in 2001, EDGA manages three public disc golf courses in Edmonton. In addition to Norwester Park, there are also courses at Rundle and Hermitage Parks. The courses are free for anyone to use, and tee times are not required. The city says about 50,000 rounds are played across the three courses per year. More information about the courses can be found online.
