Whitemud Park was bustling with families engaging in some winter activities Saturday. It’s all part of the city’s Play Rangers program, which kicked off its first day over the weekend. The program offers free snow-shoeing, kick sledding and snow fort building every Saturday until Feb. 21 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Northeast River Valley Park will also start offering the program every third Saturday of the month from Jan. 17 to Feb. 21. Play Rangers continues spring programming until June when green shacks start up for the summer. Children five years old and under must be actively supervised by a responsible person over 13.
