Human remains of 12-year-old found in northern Alberta

Athabasca RCMP are investigating a homicide in connection with the discovery of human remains.

On Aug. 6 at 3:26 a.m., officers responded to reports of someone discovering human remains.

Following an Aug. 7 autopsy in Edmonton, the victim was identified as 12-year-old Edmonton resident Fiasal Hussein.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
