The hunt for gently used winter coats for vulnerable Edmontonians has started. Page the Cleaner is launching the annual Coats for Kids and Families drive one month earlier after a greater-than-anticipated demand last year. “We immediately had so many distribution partners who were looking for so many coats that we really wanted to get a head start this year,” said Holly Jones, CEO of Page the Cleaner, which has organized the event since 2025. “It’s already starting to get cool outside, so it’s really important to have those coats available for people who need them.” Last year, 3,000 coats were collected. Jones is aiming to triple the number by Dec. 15 and is looking for businesses in Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park that want to partner as a drop-off location. “We need coats for all ages and, of course, snow pants for the kids are also accepted…. The one that we usually have more demand for than what we can collect is men’s coats, so for sure, look through the closets and look for adult coats and men’s coats,” Jones told CTV News Edmonton on Tuesday.
