The Alberta government launched its new dashboard designed to keep people informed on the performance of health systems across the province. The publicly available data will be rolled out in phases. Friday was the launch of surgical wait times. Next will be EMS and then primary care data, according to a news release from the province. The current dashboard compiles acute care facilities performing surgeries across the province with the number and types of surgeries performed at each facility. It also details the wait times for cancer and non-cancer surgeries like hip and knee replacements, with data spanning back to 2018 and comparisons to national statistics. Data will be updated monthly, with the province saying to expect a “short reporting lag” to ensure accuracy.
