Alberta Health Services (AHS) says it has started the “elimination” of approximately 100 filled and 300 vacant positions, mainly impacting corporate services. In a statement, AHS said some of the positions include roles in IT, human resources, and communications. “This represents 0.4 per cent of the total AHS workforce,” said the statement. “There have been no filled position eliminations in front-line clinical areas and no direct impacts to front-line clinical services.” AHS said it will support the impacted employees and their teams in the weeks ahead but would not provide additional comments.
