It’s the end of March and the beginning of spring – put that together and you get Spring Break. CTV News Edmonton has put together a list of events to keep your kids engaged and having fun while school is out. Is it too late for camp? While some popular spring break camps like the ones at Telus World of Science Edmonton (TWOSE) are sold out, there are still some unique ones available. Laser City offers day camps next week, with three action-packed options – Laser Tag Camp, Mini Paintball Camp, and Minecraft Camp. Conquer obstacles at Fitset Ninja’s four-day camp from March 30 to April 2. Or improvise with Rapid Theatre’s Spring Break Improv Camp from March 30 to April 3. The last day of camp features a Friday afternoon showcase. Entertainment on the screen and stage Follow the yellow brick road with The Wizard of Oz at The Citadel Theatre, which runs every weekend until April 12. Or never grow old with Petey Paan’s Pirate Adventure at Jubilations Junior Theatre until April 4. Other family-friendly shows include Paw Patrol Live! “A Mighty Adventure” at the Edmonton Expo Centre, where you can get ready to roll with Chase and his friends at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Metro Cinema brings back the nostalgia of Saturday morning cartoons with All-You-Can-Eat-Cereal Cartoon Party on March 28 at 10 a.m. Families can binge on cereal while watching up to 180 minutes of cartoon classics. Spring Break Family Favourites screenings are available starting at $3.99 per ticket at your local Cineplex. Landmark Cinemas has Spring Movie Break for $5 per ticket, with showings of Paw Patrol: Rocky’s Catastrophe, How to Train Your Dragon, and A Minecraft Movie. Free retail therapy Mastermind Toys is hosting daily free events, where kids can make and take home a toy or play a board game. Indigo Chapters stores are hosting Spring Play Days at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily, with free storytime and crafts. West Edmonton Mall (WEM) will have pop-up entertainment from March 28 to April 6 – from free face painting and balloon art to ticketed events like Mermaid in the Pool and caricature artists. Family favourites The Edmonton Arts Council will have its last day of Spring on the Square at Sir Winston Churchill Square downtown on Saturday. Free activities and performances will run from noon to 4 p.m.. Visit various museums and attractions, including the Royal Alberta Museum, the Art Gallery of Alberta, TWOSE, Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin, Muttart Conservatory, or the Edmonton Valley Zoo.
