With the return of spring weather comes the return of work to be completed on city streets. Phase 2 of the 95 Avenue Renewal Project begins this week, with road construction from 163 Street to 170 Street on the south side of 95 Avenue slated until fall 2026. The work includes the replacement of sidewalks, curbs and street lighting as well as the permanent removal of service road lane access east of 170 Street. On-street parking bays and new stormwater drainage will be installed, and east of 167 Street will see bus stop upgrades. ETS routes will still operate in the area, but bus stops may see temporary closures during periods of construction. Updates to schedule impacts can be found on the ETS Trip Planner or on the City of Edmonton website. Single-lane traffic splits will be required throughout construction, and drivers are asked to follow posted signage. Crews will also close 167 Street and 165 Street in phases to maintain access. Emergency vehicle access will be prioritized at all times, according to a city media release.
