Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at a townhouse complex in northeast Edmonton on Thursday. They arrived on scene at the complex at 151 Avenue and 22 Street at 9:32 a.m. to find two townhomes on fire. “Fully involved, two suites, coming through the roof,” District Chief Cory Cremer told reporters on scene. “There was one person in one of the residences, he got out on his own.” He said the man was getting checked for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported. Firefighters were able to get the flames under control in 15 to 20 minutes according to Cremer. About 40 firefighters worked to put out the fire.
