An 18-year-old man has been charged after police received a complaint about a gun at a northern Alberta school. Mounties got the complaint at 12:10 p.m. on Feb. 27 from Grande Prairie Composite High School. Officers attended the school and quickly located a suspect. Police were able to determine the handgun was actually a BB gun. As a result of the incident, an 18-year-old Grande Prairie man has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to public purpose. He was released from custody and a court date set for March 19 in Grande Prairie. RCMP did not say if the man was a student at the school.
