Starting Thursday, bridges on 17 Street over Yellowhead Trail will be closed for replacement as they have reached the end of their service life. The city says both replaced bridges will be reopened to traffic in 2028. Repaving will also occur on 17 Street between 116 Avenue and Hayter Road during the closure. Detours will be available at nearby interchanges and temporary crossovers on the Yellowhead. Detour plans and maps can be found online. There may be temporary speed restrictions on the Yellowhead while work is being done.
