TORONTO - Writer-turned-artist-turned-furniture designer Douglas Coupland has now set his sights on fashion.
The "Generation X" author is partnering with Roots for a limited-edition clothing and accessory line, debuting July 8.
The clothing company says its Roots X Douglas Coupland collection includes apparel for women, men and children, as well as accessories, leather goods, furniture, and art.
The theme is "Canada Goes Electric" and Coupland says it's an extension of his longtime exploration of what it means to be Canadian.
Prices range from $3.99 to $1,973 for a limited-edition silver leather jacket signed by Coupland.
Roots co-founder Don Green says this the first time the company has turned to an outside designer.
