Bones unearthed in an Ottawa backyard last October belong to the former wife of an accused serial killer, a DNA test has revealed.

The results released Wednesday show that human remains discovered at 1535 Heatherington Rd. belong to Lise Roy, the first wife of suspected serial killer Camille Cleroux.

The couple was living in the home when Roy disappeared in 1990, about 20 years ago.

A landscaping crew came across Roy's bones last Halloween. In mid-November, police dug for related evidence in a park across the street from the home.

Cleroux is suspected in the 2010 murder of Paula Leclair whose body was discovered in a train yard close to her apartment.

The 57-year-old has also been accused in the disappearances of Roy and his second wife Jean Rock, who went missing in 2003 and remains unaccounted for.

Cleroux's preliminary hearing in the Leclair case was postponed last November. He appeared in court briefly on Wednesday to set a new date.
