TORONTO - Grammy-nominated producer Deadmau5 is among the first batch of performers announced for next year's Juno Awards.

Feist and City and Colour have also been announced as performers for the next show, which will be held at Ottawa's Scotiabank Place on April 1.

Toronto roots-rock band Blue Rodeo will also perform on the same night that the group is ushered into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

The announcement comes just before the first batch of tickets for the annual awards gala go on sale on Friday.

The show will also introduce a new category for the metal/hard rock music album of the year, bringing the total award tally to 41.

And it will mark the first time the Junos have been held in the nation's capital since 2003.

"This first group of performers are among the most exciting and coveted artists in the world, and it only makes sense that they be a part of Canada's greatest night in music," said Melanie Berry, president of the Juno Awards and the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, in a statement.
