Phil Hahn
ContactPhil Hahn joined CTV News’ digital team in 2004 as a web journalist before moving on to become social media producer and then online producer. He specializes in data visualizations, special projects and news interactives.
Based in Toronto, he’s been editor-in-chief for CTVNews.ca’s federal election coverage, headed CTV News’ COVID-19 desk during the pandemic, and is a current producer for CTV News’ Trend Line with Nik Nanos. He previously worked in broadcast on the CTV National News assignment desk, and on election assignment desks.
He was a gold medal winner in the Canadian Online Publishing Awards’ Best Interactive / Infographic Story category for his feature on the Canada C3 expedition, which was also an RTDNA finalist. He also won gold for his interactive on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. He’s part of a team that won a 2023 RTDNA award for Overall Excellence in Digital as well as a multi-platform award for the digital component of Omar Sachedina’s documentary, ‘Expelled: My Root in Uganda.’
Phil holds a bachelor's degree from Queen's University and studied journalism at Humber College. He currently sits on the board of Humber’s Journalism program.
He speaks English and conversational Japanese.
