OTTAWA - An Ottawa judge says a publication ban will remain in place on the court proceedings between convicted sex killer Russell Williams and his wife.

Williams' wife, who can no longer be named, wanted her financial and medical records sealed -- or at least be placed under a publication ban.

The ban covers a domestic deal the couple signed shortly after the former colonel was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of two eastern Ontario women.

Justice Jennifer MacKinnon ruled the domestic contract will remain under a publication ban until it is tendered as an exhibit in the case.

MacKinnon also sealed sensitive portions of Williams' wife's personal medical information, which had been put before court.

Williams was commander at CFB Trenton before being sentenced to life in prison for the murders, two sexual assaults and dozens of fetish break-ins.

Lawyers for several media outlets have been arguing against the publication ban, citing freedom of the press issues.
