VANCOUVER - Voters in the riding of Vancouver-Point Grey head to the polls in a byelection today to decide whether to send Premier Christy Clark to the legislature.

Clark was elected B-C Liberal leader in February and is one of six candidates in the race, including New Democrat David Eby, who's taken a leave from his job with the B-C Civil Liberties Association.

As the campaigning wrapped up yesterday, Clark was facing criticism over attack ads against Eby and her use of the premier's office to promote her election bid.

Clark's team has been distributing flyers attacking Eby over his past statements in favour of polygamy, legalizing drugs and access to pornography.

Clark's campaign manager Colin Hansen defends the ads, saying Eby's views are extreme and voters in the riding need to know what he stands for.

The N-D-P has filed a complaint with Elections B-C, claiming Clark violated election rules by using public funds to campaign in the riding, but Liberal House Leader Rich Coleman says Clark was just doing the premier's work.
