TORONTO - Canadian content ranked high on YouTube's lists of the most-watched videos in 2011 but still could not top the web phenomenon that was Rebecca Black.

Black's music video for the much-derided song "Friday" was the most viewed video in Canada and internationally on YouTube, which had one trillion video views over the course of the year.

In second place on both lists was "Ultimate Dog Tease " by Andrew Grantham, in which the Halifax-native torments a talking German shepherd by teasing him about food. The video drummed up more than 74 million views since being uploaded in May.

Third on Canada's list and eighth internationally was the cover of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" by Winnipeg's Maria Aragon. It caught the notice of Perez Hilton, got the pre-teen an appearance her on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and even an invitation to perform onstage with Lady Gaga herself.

Coming in at No. 10 on the Canadian list was the video entitled "Emerson - Mommy's Nose is Scary!" with a five-and-a-half year old boy reacting with horror and laughs as his mother blows her nose. The London, Ont., baby boy and his parents later got invited to appear on U.S. morning talk shows.
