A Toronto woman’s three-day search for her pet cat at Vancouver’s International Airport finally came to an end on Monday morning.

Kelli Seepaul -- whose Siamese cat, Willow, went missing in the airport’s cargo area on Thursday -- tweeted the happy news at around 2 a.m. Pacific time.

“Willow has been found at @yvrairport @WestJet THANK YOU everyone who helped. So grateful.” Vancouver airport retweeted the news shortly after.

Seepaul’s saga began Thursday when she was paged by airport staff while waiting to board a WestJet flight to Toronto.

They alerted her that her cats Willow and Finnigan escaped after the bottom of her pet carrier detached when baggage handlers picked it up.

With the help of airport staff, Seepaul was able to find Finnigan, but Willow remained at large.

"I obviously missed my flight and waited in the airport for a long time trying to find her and I cried the whole time,” Seepaul told CTV News on Saturday.

Both cats had been abused before Seepaul adopted the pets, and Willow is still shy with her owner.

“She’s much friendlier with me now but I still can’t pick her up,” Seepaul had said.

WestJet said they worked with the local humane society, airport workers and a number of other agencies to find Willow.
