CTV News will honour past and present members of the Canadian military on Wednesday with a live, national broadcast from the National Remembrance Day ceremony at Canada's National War Memorial in Ottawa.

Led by Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme, the uninterrupted 90-minute broadcast will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET on Nov. 11 on CTV, CTV Two, and CTV News Channel.

It will also be live-streamed on CTVNews.ca, CTV.ca, and the CTV GO and CTV News GO apps.

Across all platforms, the coverage will pause for a minute of silence at 11 a.m.

For the broadcast, LaFlamme will be joined by:

  • CTV News' Chief Political Commentator Craig Oliver,
  • CTV News Ottawa Bureau Chief and Question Period Host Robert Fife,
  • CTV News Reporter Mercedes Stephenson,
  • And special guests including veterans advocate Master Cpl. Paul Franklin, who lost his legs in a suicide bombing while serving in Afghanistan, and novelist Jane Urquhart, who wrote the book "The Stone Carvers" about the Vimy Memorial.

Further coverage

Beyond the live broadcast, CTV News also has robust coverage planned on CTVNews.ca, CTV's Canada Am and local CTV News stations.

Ahead of the ceremony, Canada AM will pay tribute to Canada's black war veterans, and showcase a Leonard Cohen performance of "In Flanders Field." The show will also highlight a tree-planting project along Canada's Highway of Heroes.

Meanwhile, online, CTVNews.ca will feature a Remembrance Day portal where visitors will be able to find photo galleries, extended video coverage, an interactive graphic commemorating the iconic poem "In Flanders Field," and a listing of ceremonies across the country.

In Calgary, CTV News at Six Anchor Tara Nelson will follow the city's Remembrance Day Ceremony with a half-hour special from the Military Museum of Calgary, starting at 10:58 a.m. local time.

CTV News Vancouver will also have special live coverage of a local ceremony. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. local time, CTV News at Six anchor Mike Killeen and CTV Morning Live Anchor Keri Adams will host a live, uninterrupted 60-minute broadcast from Vancouver' Victory Square.

Following the official ceremony at the square's Cenotaph, CTV Vancouver will also feature exclusive coverage of the Veteran's Parade and Ceremonial Review.
