MONCTON, N.B. - The federal NDP's veterans affairs critic wants an inquiry into defoliant spraying at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown in New Brunswick and he is encouraging anyone who was exposed to the chemical to file a claim with Veterans Affairs Canada.

Peter Stoffer held a news conference today in Moncton, N.B., with veteran Basil McAllister, who was recently granted compensation after winning a federal court case.

The 83-year-old man from nearby Burton fought for compensation after being repeatedly denied for almost 10 years.

He has cancer and other health problems, which he attributes to exposure to the defoliant Agent Orange.
