A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman whose body was discovered Monday near Prince of Wales, N.B.

Jessica Ann Miller, 20, of Apohaqui, N.B., a small community about 60 kilometres northeast of Saint John, was reported missing on Sunday. At that time, she had not been seen in three days.

Her family said they had spoken to Miller on Thursday around 5 p.m. and received a text from her on Friday morning.

Police found her body at about 8 p.m. on Monday in a wooded area just off of Highway 1 near the rural community of Prince of Wales, about 30 km west of Saint John. Her vehicle was discovered in Saint John earlier in the afternoon.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine the specific cause of death.

The RCMP's Major Crimes Unit, along with regional RCMP districts are continuing to investigate the case. Further charges are possible.

Jesse Edward Reynolds, 20, from Hampton, N.B., has been charged with causing an indignity to a dead body.

RCMP said that Reynolds had prior contact with Miller.

He appeared in court Tuesday morning.

Reynolds has been remanded until his next scheduled court appearance on August 4.
