And a Husky-Labrador mix from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, also came to the rescue of two young girls.

Adam Shaw and his trusty canine companion, Rocky, helped pull two sisters to safety after they fell in the North Saskatchewan River.

Meskie from Little Shemogue, New Brunswick was also celebrated today.

The Calico-Angora mixed cat helped alert her elderly owner to a fire in the home.

Since 1968, 135 dogs, 27 cats and one horse have been inducted into the Purina Animal Hall of Fame.
