Edmonton police say they have some "good ideas" about what happened to two individuals found dead by a realtor on Wednesday.

The bodies of a man and a woman were discovered at approximately 2 p.m., when the realtor entered a home in southwest Edmonton for a showing.

The case is being treated as suspicious, and police have not yet released the identities of the deceased. They are expected to provide an update on the case Thursday.

Staff Sgt. Bill Clark said police have some "good ideas" about what happened, but refused to go into detail.

"We got a lot of background stuff and different things to check out," he told CTV Edmonton on Wednesday. "Lots of work to do, but it's just too early to give out that information."

The realtor called police after the bodies were discovered.

The investigation is ongoing.
