The local SPCA in Cape Breton, N.S., is seeking a home for two dogs who they say must be adopted together because both pooches are disabled and need each other for support.

Jasper is blind. His ever-present friend Curly only has three legs. Curly uses his sight to help Jasper avoid running into things. Jasper provides someone for Curly to literally lean on.

The dogs were adopted out together two years ago but returned to the shelter earlier this month.

The shelter is trying to find a new home in time for the holidays, preferably one with few stairs.

The standard $250 adoption per dog fee is being waived; instead, the shelter is asking for a donation.

Keisha Morrison, from the Nova Scotia SPCA in Cape Breton, said they need to be adopted as a pair because “they wouldn’t last” without each other.
