Police in Brandon, Man., have confirmed the body of 18-year-old Owen Bedford, who was previously reported missing, has been found in a river. Police say his identity has been confirmed. “At this time, our thoughts are with Owen’s family and friends as they navigate this incredibly difficult and painful time,” a post on social media from the Brandon Police Service reads. It goes on to say, “we extend our deepest sympathies and stand with them in their grief.” Owen was last seen around two in the morning on Sunday June 15 leaving a bar with some friends. He got into a taxi but got out a short time later. No one had seen or heard from him since that night. Family and friends of Owen had spent the last five days searching for him.
