Thousands of flights into and out of the Middle East have been cancelled amid U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, leaving passengers stranded or stuck.

The quick escalation this weekend involving the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, blasts in Tehran, and the firing of retaliatory missiles at Israel and the Gulf Arab states prompted some airlines to halt travel to destinations including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha.
