Canadian critically injured in Times Square crash

Times Square suspect charged The man accused of driving his car through a crowd at Times Square has been charged with murder.

New York officials say that a 38-year-old Canadian woman was critically injured after a driver mowed down pedestrians in New York City’s Times Square.

Chief of Manhattan Detectives William Aubry told reporters that three people remained in critical condition and that the Canadian woman’s condition was “very critical.” He did not identify her.

A young female tourist was killed in the incident on Thursday, and a total of 20 people injured. The deceased woman has been identified as 18-year-old Alyssa Elsman, of Portage, Mich.

Richard Rojas, 26, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the incident.
