Alberta’s winter rules for heat and electricity bills are now in effect. That means from Thursday, Oct. 16 until April 15, anyone behind on their electricity bill can’t have it disconnected. And starting Nov. 15, no one can have their natural gas disconnected. The province says this enables people to access the energy they need to provide for their families when the weather is coldest. The Alberta government has partnered with the non-profit Trellis Society to support people who are struggling.
