The Cannoli Cowboy is in Canada, serving up hand-filled pastries at the Calgary Stampede. American CJ Roberts, who hails from Nashville, Tenn., has become a sensation online for his inventive mobile cannoli bar, which he wears as he wanders around venues. The moustached ricotta ranger travels to different festivals and parties to deliver his desserts. Roberts says officials with the Stampede reached out to him on social media and booked him to come to Calgary for the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. “Canada’s great! I love Alberta and I love Calgary – the people are really the best part,” Roberts said. “The Stampede’s amazing – I would rate it one of the best, honestly. “I’ve had a great time here.” The Cannoli Cowboy has a partner and co-owner – Cannoli Cowgirl Hayley Stonehouse – also based in Nashville. Roberts says their plan was to create “memorable and delicious moments.” “We initially started it as a side gig and a passion project, and it quickly scaled to be what it is today.” The pair’s other business ventures include Shuck and Saddle, which sees cowboys and cowgirls shuck oysters for patrons, and Yeehaw Caviar, which focuses on roe service – both with mobile setups.
