Twinning of Highway 3 between Taber and Burdett is nearing completion. So far, 93 per cent of grading and gravel base has been completed, with 79 per cent of the highway already paved. The first phase of the twinning project is 54 kilometres long and includes a new eight kilometre bypass around Grassy Lake. Construction has also included 11 bridge-sized structures, intersection improvements and 10 new service roads. The first phase is set to be completed in the fall, according to the province.
